It is as informative as Matanglawin, and yet uses video clips of foreign documentaries like Kap’s Amazing Stories.
It has the premise of educating and entertaining the viewers while bringing them on the scene by actually traveling to the country involved. The thought of Aga Muhlach would get lost into the wild or go digging ancient ruins got me excited. Only to learn the he is only meeting face to face with inanimate dinosaur skeletons at the Wyoming Dinosaur Center.
Where’s the fun in that?

Pinoy Explorer (TV5) Review
The actual footage of Aga riding a van to the airport, arriving at San Francisco and finally at the Wyoming Dinosaur Center seems to be a bold move. However, they took a step backward by using the clips of the documentary “Clash of the Dinosaurs.”
If they can spend money on the travel to Wyoming, why can’t they spend money on creating their own clips?
Of the question should be: Why bother traveling to the dinosaur center, when in the end all you are going to give us are borrowed videos?
They only used the Wyoming Dinosaur Center as a jumping board for the dinosaur discussion.
However, we have to agree that they have a good material in the “Clash of the Dinosaurs” which is not the usual infotainment we usually see. The information is fresh and detailed.
Another problem of Pinoy Explorer is relevance. Yes, learning about dinosaurs is interesting, but how we used it in our daily lives? This is why Pinoy Explorer cannot compete with Matanglawin.
Pinoy Explorer may be the biggest edutainment program in terms of budget, it has a tendency of being useless and forgettable. Unless Aga Muhlach really gets his hands dirty.
My rating: 2.5
