In the qualifying rounds, the Top 30 will be shortened to the Top 20. There will be two qualifying rounds. In the first round, the 30 contestants will be divided into two groups of 15 kids. The five best kiddie cooks from each group will automatically join the official contestants of Junior MasterChef Pinoy Edition.
The remaining contestants will compete in the second round for the last 10 spots of the Top 20.

First Qualifying Round - Invention Test
The first qualifying round is the Invention Test where the kiddie cooks are to create their own dishes from two main dishes. The main dishes of the first batch are chicken and vegetables while the second batch cook with pork and fruits.
The judges taste the dishes and picked five best dishes from each group, choosing the first 10 members of the official 20 contestants of the Junior MasterChef Pinoy Edition which is signified by the distribution of the official Junior MasterChef aprons.

Here are the dishes that stand out among the others in the Invention Test.
1. Jobim Jalbuena, Spicy Mediterranean Chicken with Salsa and Flat Bread
2. Kyle Imao, Tortilla-Crusted Chicken
3. Gino Yang, Breaded Chicken with Spinach and Mushroom Sauce
4. Philip Amarillo, Chicken with Pesto Sauce
5. Athena Garcia, Chicken Adobo Roulade
6. Patrick Baldosano, Pork Medallion
7. Miko Manzano, Stuffed Herb French Grilled Porkchop with Mango and Plum Sauce
8. Louise Mabulo, Filipino Sushi
9. Bianca Dimapilis, Eggs Benedict with Apple Glaze
10. Judel Bautista, Spicy Pork with Mango Sauce
