Kim Chiu's character Jade, in ABS-CBN's newest primetime drama My Binondo Girl, chose to pretend to be the son that her father wanted. Kim Chiu has to bind her breast and gain weight to achieve the built and stance of her male character, Yuan.
I think what Jade did is too much. Did she really have to do it?

My Binondo Girl: What is the real story?
The story of My Binondo Girl is about a girl named Jade who will do everything to be with her Chinese father, even to the point of pretending to be a boy, just for him to accept her.
According to the trailer, there is a tomb for Yuan Dimaguiba, which is supposedly Jade's brother. It is Yuan that Chen Xi, the father, is looking for. And it is Yuan that Jade will try to pretend to be.
This brings up questions regarding the real Yuan. Did he and Jade born on the same day? Did he die when he was born? Is there really a real Yuan?
I also don't see how Jade, who grew up without a father, became boyish, when she doesn't really have a male figure to look up to.

How sad Kim Chiu had undergone breast augmentation, now she has to suffer binding those big breast.
I think onyx is the real yuan. The naming pattern of chen sy's kids seem to suggest so: jade, amethyst, onyx?
