Sneak Peek: The Kitchen Musical - Boom Boom Pow





The Group Entertainment has released an appetizer for The Kitchen Musical which is set to air on October 2011. The sneak peek to the first episode of the first ever Pan Asian musical drama series features the cast performing their version of Black Eyed Peas' Boom Boom Pow.

The Kitchen Musical stars a pool of Asia's talented stars from across the region including Philippines' Karylle, Christian Bautista, Thou Reyes and Ikey Canoy.

The Kitchen Musical has 13 one-hour episodes filled with popular hit songs and delicious dishes and desserts.

The Kitchen Musical Plot Summary/Synopsis


The Kitchen Musical follows the story of Maddie Avilon (Karylle), a rich young girl who goes to work as sous chef at her father's famous restaurant The Avilon after graduating from the culinary school Le Cordon Blue in Paris.


Maddie struggles to show her individuality and creativity in the hands of the head chef, Alex Marcus (Stephen Rahman Hughes), who is known for his notoriety for perfection. Maddie will also work with her childhood friend Daniel Ray (Christian Bautista) who is also a sous chef.

On the other hand, the sommelier of The Avilon, Selena Argon (Rosemary Vandenbroucke) has deep desire to get rid of Maddie and win Alex's heart.

Harry Shaw (Arthur Acuna), the general manager of Avilon, will keep secrets from Maddie on her father's motive for letting her work in the restaurant.

Thou Reyes will play the role of a line cook and Ikey Canoy will be a pastry chef.

The Kitchen Musical on Studio 23 and AXN


The Kitchen Musical will be aired starting October 15, 2011 in 19 countries across Asia including here in the Philippine through AXN and Studio 23.

According to the Studio 23's program head Vince Rodriguez, the second season of the series is already in the process.

After the successful media launch of the series, Ben Silverman who brings the BBC's The Office and Colombian telenovela Ugly Betty struck a deal with Singapore-based The Group Entertainment in association with Small World IFT to co-produce and bring the scripted musical drama to United States.
