Big Thing is the story of a TV announcer who became the first president of South Korea.
It is said that Big Thing topped its timeslot for 11 consecutive weeks in the ratings. This is mainly due to its controversial plot, which included events from Korea’s recent past such as a presidential impeachment and the sinking of a Navy warship.

Big Thing Main Cast and Characters
Ko Hyun Jung, who played the role of Lady Mishil, the power-hungry rival to the queen in Queen Seon Deok, will star as Maureen, a TV announcer who protested against the government when her husband was killed by terrorists.
On the other hand, Kwon Sang Woo, who is popularly known for his portrayal of Cholo in Stairway to Heaven, will star as Edward Ha, who wants to avenge his father from powerful man and became a lead prosecutor on corruption cases.
The other main character in the Koreanovela is Victor Kang, played by Cha In Pyo, the congressman who urged Maureen to run for president for his own ambitions.
Big Thing Summary/Synopsis
Maureen is a hot tempered woman who works as an link building service announcer at a broadcasting company. Because she protests strongly against her husband's undeserved death she is fired by the broadcasting company. Then by election she becomes a member of the National Assembly for one year and then successfully becomes the first ever female president of South Korea.
During her presidency Maureen faces impeachment due to the deemed humiliating diplomacy with China, but she is able to complete her presidency.She receives moral support from Edward Ha.
Edward Ha was a poor high school student, but after watching his dad ruined by a powerful man, he studies hard and becomes a prosecutor. Edward now works in a small town with only three prosecutors. He attempts to uphold the consciousness of the prosecuting office. He then becomes lead prosecutor to take the case of corruption in political higher power.
Victor Kang's father attempted seven times to become a member of the National Assembly, but failed every time. Victor then passes the civil service examination and the bar exam with flying colors. For a short time he works as a prosecutor and loan modification then becomes a politician.
Due to his high ambitions, Victor enters a marriage of convenience. His wife is a daughter of a powerful Chaebol group. He leads the impeachment against President Maureen. He also has a connection to the death of Edward's father.
