Boy Abunda on Bandila starting October 3

I thought Boy Abunda will join Bandila on September 12 as reported in Bandila itself. But according to the official statement of ABS-CBN, it will be on October 3.

Boy Abunda's transfer to Bandila means that he will be leaving SNN Showbiz News Ngayon which will be dissolved. It will appear like SNN will be merged with Bandila which will eliminate redundancies in showbiz news being reported by both shows.

But it can also be viewed as a scheme to cut costs.

Boy will be delivering news on entertainment, lifestyle, and arts and culture.

There is no doubt that Boy Abunda has the right to be in Bandila because he has done a lot of News and Current Affairs shows like Kontrobersyal, Private Conversations, and Bottomline.

Boy Abunda will join Ces Drilon, Julius Babao and Karen Davila in the evening news program.

Here is the official statement from ABS-CBN's Bong Osorio regarding the new lineup of Bandila:

The most trusted programs and personalities have joined forces. The nationalistic news delivery of Bandila will be strengthened and expanded, and will now broadcast in an earlier time slot.

Award-winning and seasoned ABS-CBN news anchors Karen Davila, Julius Babao, and Ces Orena-Drilon will be joined by Boy Abunda starting October 3.

Boy is a cross-over artist who has been honed in news and current affairs with programs like Etcetera, Kontrobersyal, Conversations with Boy Abunda and The Bottomline.

In the SNN tradition, Boy brings with him the hottest and most interesting news stories in Bandila.

Bianca Gonzales will be given another assignment.

Expect to watch an earlier Bandila starting October 3, 2011.
